President Lu Yongxiang pays a visit to the UK
CAS President Lu Yongxiang, who is also vice chairman of the standing committee of the National People's Congress, made an official visit to the United Kingdom in early Dec.
On Dec. 7, President Lu held talks with Professor Sir David King, Chief Scientific Advisor to the U.K Government and Head of the Office of Science and Technology in London. He also visited the Royal Society and attended a banquet held by president of the Royal Society Lord May in honor of President Lu the next day.
From Dec. 9 to 10, Prof. Lu visited the University of Nottingham, where he received an honorary degree of Doctor of Science conferred by the Chancellor of the university Professor Yang Fujia.
